Question from Finlitfan (19:59, 20 August 2024)

[edit]

Hi there, if I have a Wikipedia page that a friend created for me, can I edit it myself? Or do I need to ask someone else to do it for me? Just wondering. I'm not aware of any errors. --Finlitfan (talk) 19:59, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Finlitfan: Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! This question is a little more complicated than a simple "yes" or "no". We have a guideline on Wikipedia about Conflict-of-interest editing. In this case, both you and your friend would have a conflict of interest on the article on you. Therefore, both of you would have to follow the instructions written at the link that I linked above. In addition, if you paid your friend to write the article for you, please take a look at paid editing, although this is not necessarily the case. Could I ask which page? I could give you more specific instructions if I knew. Anyways, happy editing. Let me know if you have any further questions, I'm always here to help Relativity ⚡️ 23:47, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
